I am writing to certify that Defoamer FLC-120 (AFCO 8153), manufactured by AFCO, 550 Development Avenue, Chambersburg, PA 17201, complies with the Federal Food, Drug & Cosmetic Act and any other applicable regulations.

AFCO 8153 is an inert, water soluble dimethylpolysiloxane based antifoaming agent formulated for long lasting foam control in food and chemical processes and is manufactured in compliance with the regulations of the Food and Drug Administration as cited in 21 CFR 173.340 (defoaming agents used in processing foods).

AFCO 8153 is approved in USDA inspected plants as a general cleaning agent on all surfaces, or for use with steam or mechanical cleaning devices in all departments.

AFCO 8153 is approved in USDA inspected plants to control foam in egg washing machines.

AFCO 8153 is also approved in USDA inspected plants for use as a poultry scald agent and as a hog scald agent.

When used according to instructions, AFCO 8153 will have no adverse effects on foods being processed.
